What is the Summer Card?
The Summer Card is a guest card that you receive at check-in at one of the many partner accommodations in Zell am See-Kaprun – free of charge and personalised. It serves as your personal companion through the entire summer region and offers 100% added value for your holiday. It is also available as a digital version via the official app.
Cable Cars Included
With the Summer Card you ride for free on the Schmittenhöhe cable car in Zell am See, ascending to over 1,900 metres with breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Zell and the surrounding peaks. Also included is the trip to Kitzsteinhorn near Kaprun, Austria’s highest year-round glacier ski area, as well as the family-friendly Maiskogel. Three mountain worlds, one card.
Water & Nature
The Summer Card also grants access to the impressive Kaprun high-alpine reservoirs – an absolute highlight for nature lovers. In addition, boat trips on Lake Zell and entry to selected lidos and outdoor pools in the region are included. Perfect refreshment and pure nature experience.

What does the Summer Card cost?
Nothing. The Summer Card is free for guests of a partner accommodation and cannot be bought. You receive it at check-in, either printed or digitally through the Zell am See-Kaprun app.
From when is the Summer Card valid on the day of arrival?
From 15 July to 15 September the card is only valid from 15:00 on the day of arrival. From 15 May to 14 July and from 16 September to 31 October it is valid all day on the arrival day.
How long is the Summer Card valid?
The Summer Card is valid between 15 May and 31 October for the whole duration of your stay in the region. Every guest, children included, receives their own personalised card.
Is the TAUERN SPA free with the Summer Card?
No. The TAUERN SPA Zell am See-Kaprun is a bonus partner – you get a reduced rate there, not free entry. What is free: the mountain lifts, one boat trip per day on the MS Schmittenhöhe, the lidos and indoor pool, the Kaprun high mountain reservoirs, the gorges and the partner museums.
Is the Summer Card also available digitally in an app?
Yes. Besides the printed card you receive at check-in, the Summer Card is also available as a digital version via the region's official app.
Which accommodations issue the Summer Card?
The Summer Card is only available from participating partner accommodations in Zell am See-Kaprun. It is handed over personalised at check-in and cannot be bought separately. The safest way to check whether your accommodation participates is to ask directly when booking.
Is the Summer Card valid outside Zell am See and Kaprun?
With some partners, yes. Free entry includes the Schloss Ritzen Museum in Saalfelden, the Hohe Tauern National Park Worlds and the Felberturm Museum in Mittersill, and the show mine and the Mining and Gothic Museum in Leogang.
Is the 3K K-onnection included in the Summer Card?
No. The official Summer Card booklet states explicitly that the 3K K-onnection, ski lifts and special offers are not included, and the lift benefit covers all cable cars except the 3K K-onnection. You reach the Kitzsteinhorn free of charge via Gletscherjet 1 and the Panoramabahn up to Gipfelwelt 3000, and the Maiskogel via the MK Maiskogelbahn. The 3K K-onnection panoramic ride carries a surcharge, though Summer Card holders pay a reduced bonus-partner rate.
Are the Krimml Waterfalls free with the Summer Card?
No. The Krimml Waterfalls are a bonus partner, not a premium partner – you get a reduced entry price, not free admission. The gorges that are free with the card are the Sigmund Thun Gorge in Kaprun, the Kitzloch Gorge in Taxenbach, the Seisenberg Gorge in Weißbach and the Vorderkaser Gorge in St. Martin.
Is there a winter equivalent of the Summer Card?
No. The Summer Card is valid only from 15 May to 31 October, for the duration of your stay. Zell am See-Kaprun has no equivalent winter card with free inclusive services – in winter the lift benefits run through the ski passes.
