Kirchweihtanzl of the Zeller Tresterer

On Assumption Day, 15 August, the Zeller Tresterer invite you to their traditional Kirchweihtanzl in Zell am See. The day opens at 9:30 am with Holy Mass and the blessing of flowers and herbs; from 10:30 am the historic rifle company, the Piesendorf whip-crackers and the Zell women in traditional dress welcome guests on the Stadtplatz. Together the procession moves to the festival ground behind the parish church, where the Saalfelden Tanzlmusi plays for folk dancing, Schuhplattler and whip-cracking, and marksmen shoot at the ornate church-fair target with a crossbow. Admission is free.
