On national Heritage Day, the Kaprun main-stage power station opens its doors for free special tours of the historic hydropower plant. Visitors learn about the role hydroelectric power plays in Austria’s electricity supply and can explore the newly designed VERBUND exhibition.
Tours run from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon, no registration required. Anyone wanting to round out Heritage Day in Kaprun can also visit the Kaprun Museum at Kirchbichl (tours 10 am–3 pm) and Kaprun Castle (tours 2–5 pm), completing the village’s historic triangle.
